Some words about bootable discs

In 1995 Phoenix and IBM creates El Torito Bootable CD-ROM Format Specification. Specification allows you to use multiply bootable images and its selection from start menu on one disc. But this specification doesnt become popular in BIOS producers.

El Torito standard sets CD-ROM emulation possibility for discs A: or C: while computer boot. Next cases are available:

To be sure that discs created by ISO Commander works correctly give them correct values in tab Boot dialogue window ISO info.

If you use as boot image MS-DOS floppy image or similar, then correct data most likely will be created automatically. If you use some one non-standard boot program or boot program from the disc with Windows 2000 or Windows XP, then you have know what are you doing.

If you want to create multi boot CD, then the cheapest and the easiest way is to use Bootable CD Wizard that you download from bootcd.narod.ru/index_e.htm

Bootable area size saves in the El Torito headline, but only when floppy disc emulation mode is on. If emulation free or hard disc drive emulation mode chosen, then bootable area size identification is quite hard problem.

ISO Commander tries to identify bootable area size using heuristic, but 100% result isnt guarantees. If you have this trouble, write support@isocommander.com.
